Wet Reckless (VC 23102.5(A))
These offenses were included in the statutory reduction (i.e., VC 23103, reckless driving, pursuant to VC 23103.5, wet reckless) in order for prosecutors to reduce driving under the influence cases to a less serious offense. A wet reckless conviction is far less severe than a driving under the influence conviction (i.e., no jail time, no license suspension, lower fines and shorter alcohol program).
